Why We Love Turmeric
Turmeric, "The Queen of Spices" is loaded with the famous active compound, curcumin. This golden rhizome has been utilized by ancient Vedic and Chinese health practitioners for thousands of years. It is deeply embedded into Asian history and cuisine. Turmeric is revered for its powerful immune supporting properties. It is loaded with antioxidants, iron, potassium, magnesium, and vitamin B6. Turmeric is a treasure chest overflowing with golden riches
Our Golden Turmeric is grown in Costa Rica, but Turmeric is native to the India and Southeast Asia and requires temperatures between 20 and 30 °C (68 and 86 °F) and a considerable amount of annual rainfall to thrive. Plants are gathered annually for their rhizomes and propagated from some of those rhizomes in the following season. When not used fresh, the rhizomes are boiled in water for about 30–45 minutes and then dried in hot ovens, after which they are ground into a deep-orange-yellow powder.
